Projection-mapping strips away the reality of the Torre Abbey’s South Facade, taking us into a dreamland from which digital animations grow, taking us from the real world into imagined pasts, presents and futures. The Abbey becomes a canvas for mass collaboration and a celebration of people and place.
We invite you to watch, but also contribute to a deep dive into the imagination of Torquay. Rather than being visitors to the galleries within the abbey walls, visitors are asked creatively re-imagine the walls themselves, using the Abbey as a canvas for your own artistic expression.
A fun exploration of what art is from the simplest scribble to a CGI animation, using digital technology to provide a glimpse into the nature of exhibition and reception.
The Media Workshop have provided the ‘map’ of Torre Abbey’s facade, encouraging you to leave your mark on this significant building – contributing through digital design, video, or analogue image-making with paper, paint or pen.
