A unique mix of nature, technology and audience interaction, the Illumaphonium is an interactive installation of 20 towers covered in haloes that glow and sing out as you interact with them physically. The soundscape created is made up from birdsong collected from our local area.
Artist Michael Davis creates highly immersive interactive artworks that use colour, sound and rhythm to engage audiences in the moment of creation both alone and collaboratively.

Access info
Fully accessible for audiences on hard surface path between Torre Abbey Leisure Park and The Kings Drive. Some parts of the installation are on the grassed area and not suitable for wheelchairs, however it is possible for wheelchair users to access parts of the installation and to participate in group interaction with the work. You are welcome to bring a chair or blanket if you want to remain at the installation for awhile and you need one. Stay and play as long as you like!
