Claire Anstee convenes regional choirs for a resonant gathering of song.
Bathe in the last warm waves of autumn sound and light before the darkness of Winter! Join us and immerse yourself in stunning harmonies from a range of talented choirs from across the South West.
They will fill Torre Abbey’s beautiful 800 year old tithe barn with songs of reflection, renewal, hope and love to raise your spirits for the winter ahead.
About the choirs:
Glorious Chorus is an a-cappella choir, founded and led by Helen Yeomans, based in South Devon. Helen writes original songs and arrangements for the choir - songs with a message that move audiences and performers alike. Although predominantly amateur singers, all are trained in vocal technique and performance to achieve polished performances, retaining passion and spontaneity. https://www.gloriouschorus.co.uk
Red Earth Opera formed in 2013 to perform at the Teignmouth Classical Music Festival in March 2014 - emerging from a meeting of performers looking for opportunities to sing and play opera in Devon and to involve local musicians. https://www.redearthopera.net
The Starling Octet is a mixed a cappella choral octet based in Exeter. They are led by Ben Pennington and have been performing in Devon and Somerset for 9 years. They will in fact be a sextet for Gathering Voices! Their repertoire ranges from the 16th century to the present day, encompasses a variety of languages, and they relish the challenge of singing one to a part. https://www.thestarlingoctet.co.uk
Sandford Sings is a community choir led by Claire Anstee. They describe themselves as a fun and frolicsome choir singing songs in sweet acapella from folk to gospel and world music harmonies. https://www.facebook.com/groups/372484016782066/
