Shaun Lim’s first contemporary dance performance was in the works of Benedict Soh and Kuo Naiyu (Taiwan) in Dance Horizon Troupe’s 10th anniversary production in 2011. His interest in contemporary dance was further developed under the guidance and encouragement of Marcus Foo of NTU Contemp{minated}. Under NTU Contemp{minated}, he performed in Triple Bill 2014, Propulsion 2015 and The Black JukeBox, where his movement vocabulary was extended in the works of Marcus Foo, Yarra Ileto and Foo Yunying.

Whilst training at LASALLE College of the Arts, he has performed in works by local and overseas choreographers such as Christina Chan, Kuik Swee Boon, Barbara Matijević (Croatia), Aymeric Bichon (France) and Martin Schick (Switzerland). Besides school productions, he has performed in M1 Open Stage for the M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival 2017. He was also in an understudy capacity in T.H.E company for the work Invisible Habitudes, choreographed by Kuik Swee Boon.
