Eyeview cultural programme forms part of Torbay’s Great Place Scheme: a pilot scheme funded by Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund during 2017-20 

Through 2019, Eyeview presented a series of site-specific commissions, participatory projects and community actions. The programme has supported artists and communities to animate and re-imagine Torbay’s culture and heritage. Cultural events and activities have gathered people together, animating key heritage assets and platforming new work in collaboration with local, regional and national partners. 

During the 2020 pandemic we amended our programme as appropriate. The team have been working to support the sector as part of Torbay’s Great Place Scheme, evaluate learnings and develop opportunities for the future. In November 2019, artists, technologists and communities came together for an outdoor celebration of light and sound in Torquay.

With vibrant projections, playable sculptures, collective performances and creative activities, wavelength welcomed audiences of all ages to wrap up warm and share some magical experiences together. Watch the After Film and series of artist interviews.

In June 2019, the Eyeview (extra)ordinary programme explored Torbay’s natural and cultural heritage through a series of site-specific commissions, performances and events.
